Blood on the snow is the first book I’ve read from Emma l Beal and I’m very impressed. She has a style of writing that is very easy to read, she’s not trying to be pretentious, but she is very creative and knows how to tell a tell a tale that keeps readers interested to the very end. The main character, Jessica Benson, while staying at a lodge in Whitby with 3 of her friends survives an horrific attack which leaves her 3 friends brutally murdered. Emma then takes Jessica on a rollercoaster of emotions to the point where she feels she as to try and avenge the murder of her friends and she can only do that by putting her own life in danger again. There are a lot of twists and turns and the pace of the book is very good and it moves along very well and makes you want to continue reading. I’m not going to give any spoilers away but I was surprised by the last third of the book and was more than satisfied with the ending.
I enjoyed reading “Blood on the snow” and ultimately that is all I want from a work of fiction, to finish the book and be happy I read it and I’m definitely happy to have read this particular book and I’m happy to have found a new author who will hopefully continue to write great stories and entertain many many readers in the future and I will definitely be one of those readers.
